**Note this RP and it’s ideas are based on the animation Darker than Black, it is not a requirement to know the show to be able to joinYears ago, a rift had formed over the earth, a sudden formation of a portal that covered most of the American Continent. Which scientists had named Heaven’s Gate. Upon research they figured that Heaven’s Gate was a dangerous anomaly, absorbing all life forms that were under its range. People started to fear for the worst and in a panic research facilities banded together to create a super weapon to destroy the Gate.Unfortunately, war broke out but mankind managed to deploy their plans of destroying the gate. It was over, so people thought. Heaven’s Gate merely disappeared, and a new one opened up on the other side of the world. Hell’s Gate. Hell’s Gate had selected various humans to ‘gift’ them random powers. These beings, dolls, and contractors were dangerous to mankind, tasked to wipe out humanity and protect Hell’s Gate.Soon the Gate grew in size, more and more people feared for their lives, and even worse the uprise of Contractors.Pandora City was created outside the outskirts of Hell’s Gate’s boundary, with walls to help contain the citizens of the city to safely study the gate but also to find a way to destroy it once and for all.
Hell's Gate
Not much is known about the gates in general but it has been observed that Hell's Gate and Heaven's Gate can be seen as one 3rd dimensional entity. It is known that the areas that exist in its range seem to void all laws of physics. As well that if one gate was to be destroyed the other would be destroyed as well.Destruction of Hell's gate would cause all contractors to melt and vanish.
Inside The Gate it is a labyrinth of millions of portals when walked into they would be transferred to another part of the Gate or even cause them to walk on the side of buildings or even upside down. Upon further research dolls cannot use their observation abilities within the portal as it would cause severe and immense pain
Gate Phenomena
Upon the appearance of Hell's Gate, the moon has completely disappeared and the sky has been replaced with a fake one. Stars in the sky remain but they oddly sparkle/twinkle when a contractor uses their ability.The Gate tempts normal humans if they attempt to enter it. The Gate can grant you anything you have lost and desire for but at a grave cost of either your life or something, you hold very dearly.There had been a new phenomenon called a Solar Maximum, where the largest sunspots form on the sun which can visible to the eye. This event lasts 45 days and it is impossible to destroy the gates and amplifies a contractor's powers.

Contractors: These are superhumans that have failed to become dolls, they are selected by Hell's Gate to have powers to defend, protect and feed the gate by using their powers. They are hidden and disguised from the public eye by most governments. They are the perfect killers, amoral and logical they rarely rely on emotional reasonings which allows them to perform their tasks efficiently and effectively. Their powers are not selected but randomly gifted to them.Dolls: Considered mediums, completely human but fully devoid of emotions and independent action. Though in some cases some dolls still have their emotions and independent actions intact. They use their souls to 'travel' and observe areas. Not all but some dolls are owned by contractors and humans alike. Dolls can be trained to become sleeper agents, if given a memory of a person they can perfectly mimic the person's behavior, dreams, and personality.Humans: There isn't anything special amongst normal human beings but they are the main targets of contractors with this, people have taken special training to try and eliminate contractors. Under VERY RARE circumstances a human could be labeled as a Regressor (Read below for definition).Regressor?: Contractors reverted back to normal humans. Very unknown how it occurs but it can happen. But they can become contractors again if entering close proximity to The Gates.
The contractors and dolls with how abilities are chosen
There is no known reasoning or process as to how one becomes a contractor or doll. A person could be born as one or they could be randomly selected during any stage of their life to become one.
Contractors do not select their powers or the price they need to pay for them. These powers have been either very minor or severely dangerous, and so are the prices to pay for them.Example: Contractor July has the ability of Mind Control but must pay the price of singing 4 full different songsThe price must always be paid if the ability is used, it does not matter the time or place to do it, it must be paid before the end of the day, otherwise, the contractor would turn to dust upon failure of payment. Though in some odd cases, some contractors do not need to pay a price as they have paid the ultimate one already (i.e Killed one or more of their loved ones).

__Prior To Joining__
≈ You must be 19+ to join the RP as there will be threads of NSFW content, fighting, violence, death and more.≈ Please no spamming of applications, this will not make processing faster nor will it be efficient.
__Before and After Applying__
≈ Be sure to read through all the rules, masterlist and the lore of the RP as it will help with applying through the form.≈ Your FC must be at least 19+ Internationally, we do not want newly minors turned adults to be in the RP.≈ Questions and will be answered at anytime, but processing times will be on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at GMT-5 time.≈ Reservations will last 72 hours upon receiving them regardless of processing days. If you do not submit in an application you will lose your reservation of the FC. Your reservation password is something unique to you.≈ Make sure to message us “(Your username) has applied for (FC name)” after you have sent in your application or reservation.≈ Upon acceptance you will be send an invitation link to join the discord. You will have 48 hours to join, select your role.≈ You will have a week to post an introduction within the server, bios can always come after but we would like to have an idea of your character for others to see first.≈ There is a 02 week dating ban and 4 month (after arrival) marriage ban upon new members entering the community. We will not stop you if within the probation period your character develops feelings but please do not jump ahead.≈ No spamming of SNS content it should be limited to 3 threads a day as the main focus should be writing and interactions.≈ You must have at least 2 active threads to be considered active in the RP. We do activity checks twice a month, one minor one on the 15th and one major event at the end of the month.≈ Please tag all NSFW and TW threads. This is a courtesy for those that wish to skip on reading such content.≈ Pregnancies are allowed but only with NPC Children.≈ Full Hiatus’ are maximum 1 month, and you are to request through the proper channel and await approval. If you need an extension you are also to do so through the channel.≈ Prior to leaving, you must notify admin through PM before leaving the server. Password is your comfort food.≈ You must wait 48 hours before rejoining the RP after leaving or being removed.

≈ No god-modding/meta gaming , you are not to use your OOC knowledge into your IC life. This includes using your OOC feelings into IC writing, if reported or caught doing so you will be given a strike.
